Moreover, lymphadenopathy, low platelet count, and MRD were independently associated with CD123 expression. The co-expression of CD200 and CD123 demonstrated a statistically significant relationship with unfavorable cytogenetic karyotypes and high total leucocyte count (TLC). The expression of CD200 and CD123 alone and together had an adverse impact on complete remission (CR), MRD positivity, and overall survival (OS). Cases with MRD on day 28 after induction displayed stable expression patterns of CD200 and CD123. CD200 and CD123 both had a negative influence on clinical presentation and treatment outcome, which remarkably worsened when both were concomitantly overexpressed. CD200 and CD123 can therefore be used as markers of MRD in AML and may also serve as therapeutic targets.Previous studies have shown that transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) and vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) pathways are involved in the in-stent restenosis (ISR) process. The present study aimed to assess the relationship between single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in genes encoding downstream proteins of TGF-β and VEGF-A pathways and the risk of target lesion revascularization (TLR) for in-stent restenosis.
A total of 657 patients (with 781 treated lesions) who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with stent implantation at our center between 2007 and 2012 and completed a 4-year follow-up for clinically-driven TLR, were included. SNPs in CTGF (rs6918698), TGFBR2 (rs2228048), SMAD3 (rs17293632), KDR (rs2071559), CCL2 (rs1024610) were genotyped using TaqMan assay.
Major allele carriers of CTGF gene -945 G/C polymorphism (rs6918698) were significantly less likely to underwent clinically-driven TLR during follow-up than minor allele carriers. After adjustment for clinical, angiographic, and procedural covariates, CTGF polymorphism was significantly associated with TLR, and minor allele (C) carriers had nearly two times higher risk of developing ISR requiring TLR (HR of 1.93, 95%CI 1.15-3.24) compared to patients with major (GG) genotype. No significant relationship was found between other analyzed polymorphisms and cumulative incidence of TLR at 4-years.
Our results suggest that functional -945 G/C polymorphism in the gene encoding connective tissue growth factor is associated with the need for TLR in patients who underwent PCI for stable coronary artery disease.

Out of 3,937 patients who underwent TEVAR for nonruptured thoracic aneurysm, 1,256 (31.9%) developed major postoperative complications (stroke incidence 11.4% [143/1256]). To evaluate the effectiveness of VR in patients with CP.
We conducted electronic searches in EMBASE, MEDLINE, Cochrane library, PEDro, AMED, PsycoINFO, and LILACS databases and trial site registries such as ClinicalTrials.gov and ICTRP. We included randomized controlled trials that tested the use of VR alone or in combination with other interventions compared to more conventional rehabilitation or usual care in individuals with CP. The primary outcomes were upper and lower limb function, postural control, and balance. The secondary outcomes included global motor function, perception, cognition and spatial functions, motivation, motor learning, and adverse events. Two independent reviewers extracted and assessed included articles for risk of bias using the Cochrane risk of bias tool. We use a meta-analysis with random effect model whenever possible. We analyzed the quality of evidence using theGRADE approach.
We included 38 trials (pooled n = 1233 participants) in this review. There is very low quality of evidence that VR plus conventional rehabilitation is better than conventional rehabilitation for upper limb function. There is also very low quality evidence that VR alone is no better than conventional rehabilitation for upper and lower limb function. No adverse events were observed among the 10 trials that provided information on this outcome.
At present we have very limited to limited confidence in effect estimation for utilization of VR in this population. Future studies may change our confidence in results and effect estimates.

Unlike in fatal cases, gunshot victims who survive can often provide information of use in the police investigation. Nonetheless, nonfatal shooting cases in Chicago and elsewhere have much lower arrest rates than fatal cases, in part because most victims do not cooperate. We use data from the Chicago Inmate Survey (CIS) to analyze the potential value that gunshot-victim cooperation could have for increasing arrest rates. Half of CIS respondents reported they had been shot before. Very few cooperated with police investigations of these shootings, although at least half of them could have provided useful information.
